Meals on Wheels
The Meals on Wheels Ministry of First Baptist Church was started in 1974 by a ladies group in the church called Women on Mission. They recognized a need in our community for a hot meal to be provided to those who are sick and are homebound – regardless of church affiliation. A plan was proposed where volunteers would prepare home-cooked meals every Tuesday and volunteer drivers would deliver those meals to those who are homebound.
Our church teamed up with the United Methodist Church in Crystal River who agreed to prepare and deliver hot meals on Thursdays – thus providing two meals per week to those in need.
Over the years, thousands of meals have been prepared and delivered by volunteers to those who are sick and are recovering from surgery or just need contact from the outside world.
Ministry Team Leader: Betty Wise
Meals are prepared and delivered each Tuesday Morning

Women's Missionary Union (WMU)
Women on Mission is a missions organization whose purpose is to challenge, prepare, and equip Christian believers of all ages to be radically involved in the fulfillment of the Great Commission. Women on Mission meets to support missions around the globe and at home through study, prayer and active participation in mission projects.
Women on Mission supports the Lottie Moon Christmas Offering, Annie Armstrong Easter Offering and the Maguire State Mission Offering. We support a variety of local missions activities.

Ministry Team Leader: Sandy Charlton
Luncheons: Second Thursday of each month at Noon. See bulletin and posters for special trips
We normally have you bring a side dish and $2.00 cover charge for the meat. Call the church office if you are attending.
In Touch
From
time to time, church members may find themselves in a situation where they can’t
do minor repairs, whether for financial reasons or otherwise, run errands,
prepare a meal, etc. The In Touch Ministry’s mission is to be a means of
communication between those who have a need and those who can assist them in
confidentiality. If you would like to be a part of this ministry, please contact
the church office.

Sowing Seeds
Can you touch a prayer? Can you pull it close and feel its comfort? You can if it is a Prayer Quilt. The Sowing Seeds Ministry is a way to combine the gift of a quilt with the gift of prayer for someone in need.
As each knot is tied, a silent prayer is said for someone in special need who then receives the finished quilt. This is not just the gift of a quilt it is a gift of love and prayer. It is a statement of faith in God and in his power to comfort, strengthen and heal.
Ladies are invited to join us on Thursdays at 9:00 in the sewing room to make quilts. We need people who can cut, iron, pin and sew.
Ministry Team Leader: Mary Redrick
