 7-7-7 Prayer Ministry

People make a commitment to pray for 7 weeks, 7 minutes each day for the 7 requests below.

Initiating Prayer Ministry Group

Guiding Scripture: John 17:22  “…that they may be one as We are one.”

Purpose:   To revitalize prayer in our church body.

Goal:    To create an active prayer life within the church that regularly lifts our needs to God, worshipping Him with a unity of purpose and commitment.

To accomplish this, we need: Unity, Individual Commitment, and Holiness.

We are looking at Commitment #1: I agree to pray for God’s help to start my efforts as an individual wherever I am in my Christian walk or service right now to:

1.    Love God more than I love myself in my commitments of prayer, service, talent, and giving.  (Mark 12:30-31)

2.    Allow the Holy Spirit to change my heart so others will see Jesus in me and I can be more like Him.  (2 Corinthians 3:17-18)

3.    Show Godly love to each individual God places in my life during the next 7 weeks. (John 15:12-13)

4.    Support & Encourage my pastors in their decisions of leadership as the Holy Spirit leads them.  (Hebrews 13:17)

5.    Seek a place to fellowship with believers and non believers, such as Small Group Studies, Prayer Group, Agape House, Food Pantry or some other such ministry.  (1 John 1:7)

6.    Pray for 7 individuals of my choice and for their needs everyday for this 7 weeks. (Philippians 4:6)

7.    Display more faithfulness by weekly attendance and participation in worship services. (Hebrews 10:25)

Meals on Wheels

This ministry was started by Women on Missions in 1974 when they recognized a need in our community for a hot meal to be provided for those in need, regardless of church affiliation. A plan was proposed where volunteers would cook a meal every Tuesday and volunteers would also deliver the meals to those recipients. Along with First Baptist Church, the United Methodist Church joined in by providing a meal on Thursdays, thus giving those in need two meals per week. Over the years thousands of meals have been provided for those who are sick, recovering from surgery or just need contact from the outside world.
Time: Tuesday Mornings

Agape House

For Families in Need! Baby Items, Toys, Kitchenware, Bed and Bath Linens, Clothes, Shoes, Household Items, etc. Donations are received by church members and all merchandise is free. This ministry has been a true blessing to our church and we have even experienced guests accepting Christ as their personal Lord and Savior. AMEN!
Open: Wednesdays:   9:00 a.m. until
3:00 p.m.
         1st & 3rd Thursdays: 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m.

Wednesday Night Supper

Every Wednesday Night is a time of fellowship. One thing we do best is eat at First Baptist. Volunteer Cook & Clean-up teams provide a delicious meal each week. If you don’t know many people in the church, this is a perfect ministry to get involved with or to come and enjoy the fellowship. Call the church office to make a reservation and enjoy a dinner with your church family.
Time: Wed: 5 – 6 p.m.
Cost: Adults age 18 & Up $5, Children ($3 Ages 7 -17, $1 Ages 6 & Under) Max $12/family

Food Pantry

This is a ministry which supplies food to those in need.  Food and monetary donations support this ministry along with assistance through a government food program. At various times, the items needed for the pantry will be listed in the bulletin and on the website.
