Program at 6:00 pm
We will celebrate all the hard work our kids have been doing this school year and recognize those that have completed handbooks and other awards.
Kingdom Kids
At First Baptist Church we have ministries that reach out to children and their families. We are blessed to have Kelly Lapp as our Children's Director. She has a true heart for our children and plans many activities, bible studies, and events to reach our children with the love of God.
If you have a child between the ages of 4 - 5th Grade, we have a place for them in one of our ministries. All of our workers have been trained and gone through our "Safe Church Policy" class along with background checks. If you are looking to serve God in one of our Children's Ministries read below on how you can help. Come and visit our Clubhouse to get more information about our Children's Ministries and/or follow us on facebook.

Kids Worship
KIDS WORSHIP is every Sunday morning at 8:45 and 11:00 during our normal worship services.
What can you do? Lead crafts. Lead music. Lead prayer time. Bring your children/grandchildren. Or just come and play.
Kids Bible Study
KIDS BIBLE STUDY is every Sunday morning at 9:55. This is our time to really dig into God’s word and discover what He has to say to us.
What can you do? Teach a class (all the time or on a rotation). Assist a class. Serve as a substitute. Bring your children/grandchildren.
AWANA
AWANA will start again in August at a new time from 6 pm - 7:30 pm each Wednesday. Join us during the summer for "Big Wave Discovery".
This is a packed time of games and Bible
lessons. The children obtain badges as they complete their memory verses and
studies. What an awesome feeling of accomplishing one of God’s commands to “hide
in our hearts” the word of God.
What can you do? Listen to verses. Read sections for non-reading children. Donate items to the store. Share your story at one of our mission or council times. Bring your children/grandchildren.
Children's Ministry News
Everyone who believes that Jesus is the Christ has become a child of God.
And everyone who loves the Father loves his children, too. (1 John 5:1)
The rest of you look at May as the middle of the year. But in the Clubhouse, May
marks the end of our regular activity. In just a few short weeks, school will
end, vacations will start, and several of our children will become youth.
For the past year, the kids and I have been looking at what it means to be a
child of God. How does someone become God’s child? What blessings and benefits
come from being God’s child? What responsibilities come with being God’s child?
And it definitely has been an exciting year! God has done wonderful things in
and through the Kingdom Kids of FBCCR.
It saddens me that most people reading this article will never get to see
firsthand what God is doing in the Clubhouse. Yet, at the same time, it thrills
my heart to be part of a church that values children. I greatly appreciate the
members of the Clubhouse Crew – those who serve faithfully and passionately in
the children’s ministry. But I also want to thank the FBCCR family for the
donations and gifts and encouragement and support that you offer on a regular
basis.
For that reason, it is my pleasure to invite you to our end of the year banquet
on Wednesday, May 23. The banquet includes dinner from 5:00-6:00 and a program
from 6:00-7:30. This year’s program will highlight all of the activities that
make up the children’s ministry. It’s your chance to be part of the fun. There
will be songs and verses and laughs and tears. We’ll award those kids who have
worked hard in AWANA all year. And we’ll promote our 5th graders up to the youth
ministry. It will be a wonderful evening of worship and fellowship – one you
will not want to miss.
Oh, and did I mention there will be food?
His,
Kelly
