Welcome to First Baptist Church of Crystal River, Florida

We welcome everyone to our church and fellowship. If you are looking for a loving, caring and Bible preaching church, come and visit us at First Baptist. Our doors are always open. If you have special needs or need someone to pray with you, feel free to call our church office.

The ABC's of Becoming A Christian

  • Admit that you have sinned, that you have broken God’s Law.
  • Believe that Jesus Christ died for every wrong thing you’ve ever done. Believe that He was buried and rose again on the third day.
  • Confess to Jesus that you want Him to forgive you and lead your life.

Are you ready to receive Jesus into your life? Say this prayer, “God, I admit that I have sinned against you. I believe that Jesus died for me and rose again. The best way I know how, I receive Jesus into my life to lead me and save me. Amen.”

Please contact one of our staff so that we may pray with you and help you understand what it means to becoming a Christian.

A Note From Our Pastor

September is the month to make preparations for our Homecoming Celebration. Homecoming Sunday will be October 22. We will have two identical services that day at 9:30 a.m. and 11:00 a.m. We will also be serving a complimentary lunch at the conclusion of both services. Our goal for that Sunday is to have 500 people present between the two services. For that goal to become a reality, we need everyone to invite and bring a friend. You can in-vite a former member, an inactive member, or someone who has never attended our church. Invite cards will be available soon to help you make those invitations.

Homecoming Sunday will be followed by three evenings of celebration and revival services. The services on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday will begin at 6:30 p.m. Pastor Ed Johnson, Pastor Emeritus at First Baptist Church of Ocala, will be our guest speaker. Spe-cial music will take place each evening and child care will be available.

In preparation for Homecoming, I’m beginning a message series called “More of God, Less of Me.” As believers in Jesus Christ, we have a choice to make every day. We can live in our own strength and rely upon our own abilities. In other words, we can live in the natural. Or we can submit our lives to God and live in His strength and rely upon His abilities. In other words, we can live in the supernatural.

This new series will examine stories in the Bible about people who experienced the supernatural. Something incredible happens in their life and the only explanation is that God did it. They experienced the supernatural intervention of God. The good news is that God is still in the supernatural business. He’s still intervening in the lives of people and do-ing supernatural things. Each week you will hear a testimony from someone in our church who experienced God in a supernatural way. My goal is that by the time we conclude this series, we will all understand what it means to experience “More of God, Less of Me.”

  • September 10 Moses, Aaron, and Hur (Exodus 17:8-16)

  • September 17 Jericho (Joshua 6:1-20)

  • September 24 Samson (Judges 16:1-31)

The Homecoming Celebration and all its preparation give us an excellent opportunity to be about our mission of touching hearts and transforming lives! What is God asking you to do?

God Bless,

Pastor Tim
